A preface to Lysette

The essence of the story that follows came to me whilst visiting Wimborne Minster many years ago. I thought that a story needed to be told of a child's experience of war. We hear of many childhood experiences of war in the present age and many adults caught up in battles, but perhaps not too many stories focus on what happens to children during World War 2 scenarios. Thus, the story of Lysette came to me, and I felt compelled to tell it.
